The committee have been thinking about adding an extra monthly meetings for club competitions. We would like to determine the level of interest for competitions from our members. Competitions would be held on the Second Monday of the month at our current venue.
We had thought about commencing competition with Digital Slides and including Prints later. What do you feel about competitions? Please complete the survey below and let us know about your opinions.
Thank you.

Competitions and exhibitions have some major differences between them, and they appeal to different interests. My problem is that I like all kinds of photography and a variety of activities, including a little extra challenge to help me improve my work.
Denver Digital is considering adding competitions back to their schedule after several years of conducting it’s educational exhibitions, in addition to it’s highly regarded digital programs. No changes are planned for that part since it’s working quite well. The competitions would be on a different night of the month.
It’s for those members that really like high-end photography, to try something a little more challenging to help them improve, to earn recognition for their best work. It’s not for everybody, but fun for those that like it.
I second the suggestion put forth by Mr. Harry.

The only reason I am not interested is that I do not need another meeting to go to.
What about making one of the regular meetings a quarterly competition. No speaker, minimal business.

While I have yet to do prints, I could submit digital files, and I enjoy watching other people’s prints.
